This truly spectacular harpsichord library features a beautiful baroque instrument, performed by London harpsichord virtuoso Steven Devine. Spitfire Harpsichord has been designed to blend effortlessly with our Symphonic and Chamber libraries, having been recorded in the same space — the world famous Hall at AIR Studios.
We have also created a collection of atmospheres and pads derived from the organic harpsichord samples, presented in our Mercury Synth engine.
Spitfire Harpsichord is presented to you by virtuoso Steven Devine, whose beautiful instrument and fervent passion has been captured in the world famous Hall at AIR Studios by renowned engineer Jake Jackson. As an expert in his field, Steven took us through the technicalities of the instrument and advised us how best to approach its subtle complexities.
Spitfire Harpsichord blends perfectly with our Symphonic Chamber and Spitfire Percussion libraries, as well as Grand Piano, Harp and Cimbalom, having been sampled in the same magnificent space, designed for symphony orchestras. Every note has been recorded using an array of priceless vintage microphones via Neve “Montserrat” pre-amps and a beautifully serviced Studer 2” tape machine, then into digital at 96k via the best Prism AD converters.
The library features multiple round robins and dynamic layers, presented in an easy to use GUI. Its four versatile microphone positions not only mix and blend to fit the application you’re working on, but also automate for dramatic shifts in focus and depth. We also give you Chordospheres, a collection of atmospheres and pads derived from the organic harpsichord samples, presented in our Mercury Synth engine.
Steven has been the harpsichordist with London Baroque in addition to his position as Co-Principal keyboard player with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. He is also the principal keyboard player for The Gonzaga Band, Apollo and Pan, The Classical Opera Company and performs regularly with many other groups around Europe.
